Every Child a Reader

ecar logo teal no foundationEvery Child a Reader (ECAR) is a 501(c)(3) literacy nonprofit dedicated to instilling a lifelong love of reading in children, and the CBC’s charity of choice.

ECAR’s national programs — including Children’s Book Week, the Children’s Choice Book Awards, and the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature Program — strive to make the reading and enjoyment of children’s books an essential part of America’s educational and social aims and to enhance public perception of the importance of reading.

Every Child a Reader understands that it is not kids with booksenough for children to learn to read — it is essential that they enjoy their reading experiences so that they will nurture those skills for the rest of their lives. ECAR’s unique national programs connect kids with their favorite books and authors to create meaningful experiences that will instill a lifelong love of reading at ZERO COST to kids and caregivers.
