Jorge always liked sports, all kinds of sports. Every night after dinner he and his father would play baseball together. “Jorge, you have real talent, but talent’s only half of it, you also need to work hard.” Even though Jorge was right handed, his father worked with him to bat left handed. Jorge was discouraged, why doesn’t my dad just let me play the way I want to, he asked himself. Then in a tie game Jorge relaizes that the switch hitting he’s been practicing with his dad can make the difference. “Baseball is a game of inches, and I can do it.” Jorge gets a hit — it is this beginning of a love of baseball that leads right to the major leagues.
