Sendak in the ’60s at The Rosenbach Museum & Library

During the 1960’s, Maurice Sendak illustrated more than 30 picture books. Many experts who have examined his work from this time period believe that it reflects the turmoil that society faced during that decade.

Visitors can expect to see a plethora of Sendak’s artwork from titles including Nutshell Library, Where The Wild Things Are, and In The Night Kitchen.
