‘Between Memory & Museum’ Film Screening: NYPL Children’s Literary Salon

Join Arun Wolf of Tara Books — an independent publisher of illustrated books for children and adults, based in Chennai, South lndia — for a film screening and discussion of ‘Between Memory & Museum: A Dialogue with Folk and Tribal Artists from India.’

Based on the book of the same name, the short film presents interviews and performances featuring folk and tribal artists across India. ‘Between Memory & Museum’ is set in Manav Sangrahalaya, an anthropological museum in Bhopal, and explores the origins of these art forms, how they’ve evolved, and the relationship between museum pieces and the art that remains outside.

The NYPL Children’s Literary Salon is held in the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, Celeste Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
