Alice in a World of Wonderlands at the Grolier Club
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s classic children’s book, the Grolier Club will host ‘Alice in a World of Wonderlands: The Translations of Lewis Carroll’s Masterpiece.’
While Carroll’s nonsense rhymes and wordplay pose a challenges to translators, there are currently 7,609 editions that have been translated in 174 languages. The exhibit features 140 of these translations, in seven different languages. Also on view are other works by the author.
