The Northeast:

  • East Haven, CT: Hagaman Memorial Library to post daily videos of activities like an owl program, cartooning workshop, and Mother Goose on the Loose on Facebook throughout Children’s Book Week.
  • Niantic, CT: East Lyme Public Library will be post storytimes on Facebook.
  • Hockessin, DE: Hockessin Book Shelf is doing daily storytimes on Instagram and Facebook.
  • Washington, D.C.: Politics and Prose is hosting an author event with Hannah Salyer (Packs: Strength in Numbers) on May 5th at 10:00am EST. Details here. On May 6th at 2:00pm EST, they are hosting an in-conversation event with Minh Lê and Dan Santat (Lift). Details here. On May 7th at 2:00pm they are hosting an in-conversation event with Erin Entrada Kelly (We Dream of Space), Terri Libenson (Becoming Brianna), and Karen MacPherson, Children and Teens Librarian, Takoma Park, MD library.   • Amherst, MA: The Eric Carle Museum to post a pre-recorded video storytime of From Head to Toe on Facebook on May 8, 2020.
  • Belmont, MA: Belmont Books to host live reading and drawing demo with Ioana Hobai and A Whale of a Mistake and Lena’s Slippers on May 9th at 11:00am EST on Instagram.
  • Peabody, MA: Peabody Institute Library sharing virtual resources throughout the week on Facebook.
  • Lynn, MA: Lynn Public Library to post book recommendations and community children’s book reading challenge on Facebook on May 4th, May 7th, and May 10, 2020.
  • Hudson, NH: Rodgers Memorial Library is posting daily storytimes at 1:00pm EST on their Youtube Channel.
  • Belvidere, NJ: Warren County Library to host a virtual storytime with Miss Lina, May 5th at 1:30pm EST, and with Miss Erin, May 6th at at 10:00am EST on Facebook.
  • Schenectady, NY: Schenectady Public Library is posting daily video activities on Facebook.
  • Tarrytown, NY: Warner Library to host a bilingual storytime on Facebook Live Tuesday, May 5 at 11:00am EST.
  • Indiana, PA: Indiana Free Library to host two different storytimes during the week on Facebook, and badge system for the amount of reading kids do during the month of May.
  • Coal Township, PA: The Underground Toy Society to post free ebook options on Facebook on May 4th at 8:00am EST, Twitter on May 5th at 10:00am EST, and Instagram on May 6th at 10:00am EST. They are also posting Youtube storytime videos on May 4th at 10:00am EST.

The Midwest:

  • Minneapolis, MN: Wild Rumpus Books to host one-chapter reading of The Thirteen Clocks by James Thurber read by Newbery award-winner, Kelly Barnhill at 2:00pm CST on May 5th on Facebook. They are also hosting a bilingual storytime on Facebook on May 8th at 9:00am CST.
  • Monona, WI: Monona Public Library will be hosting live storytimes on May 4th, May 6th, and May 8th at 9:30am CST on Facebook. On May 4th at 5:15pm CST, they are hosting Let’s Explore: Storytelling & Exploration with Coral Conant Gilles. Details here. On May 7th, they are hosting Let’s Take a Walk storytime on Facebook. On May 9th, they are hosting an virtual craft activity on Facebook.
  • Hammond, WI: Hammond Community Library will be hosting daily read-alouds and other fun activities on Facebook.

The South:

  • Wake Forest, NC: Page 158 Books is offering free activity sheets when you order a children’s book for pickup or delivery.
  • Guthrie, OK: Guthrie Upper Elementary School will be posting daily activities and challenges on their Facebook page.
  • Bluffton, SC: Storybook Shoppe is hosting a virtual rendition of Local Heroes Storytime on Instagram at 10:00am EST on May 4th
  • Round Rock, TX: Round Rock Public Library is hosting a Pause and Play reading for preschoolers on May 6th at 10:30am CST on Facebook. On May 7th at 10:30am CST they are hosting a Babytime Buzz, bilingual reading on Facebook.

The West:

  • Denver, CO: Second Star to the Right Books is hosting storytimes on May 5th, May 6th, May 7th, and May 8th on Google Hangouts at 10:30am MST. They’re also hosting a storytime on May 5th and May 7th at 6:00pm MST on Facebook.
