First Book’s Citizen Power Project

The challenge, funded by the Aspen Institute’s Pluribus Project, selected 15 proposals from over 900 received. The 15 classroom projects, from elementary, middle, and high school educators, address a wide range of issues, such as building compassion through learning about global cultural perspectives, planning community gardens to promote healthy eating, and combating bullying.

We believe these projects, and the books and resources First Book will provide to help them flourish, will help these educators and the young readers they teach to advance the causes they are so passionate about. (First Book)
