According to a survey by the Iowa State University School of Education, students actually learn more easily from books than from the Internet. Complex skills such as online researching, interpreting, and communicating pose a challenge for tweens and should be addressed by teachers and librarians.

Kids find it easier to learn from books rather than the Internet because online reading is more complex than print reading…Online reading requires skills and strategies that are used for print-based reading plus the ability to be able to simultaneously interpret multiple modes of information (School Library Journal)
