2015 Sales: A Year in Review

Panelists Suzanna Hermans, co-owner of Oblong Books & Music; Nikki Mutch, district sales manager at Scholastic; and Allie Bruce, children’s librarian at the Bank Street College of Education, shared their insight on what today’s kids are reading and what makes a standout campaign. Highlights from 2015 included the continuing rise of graphic novels for young readers and the We Need Diverse Books movement.

More and more, kids are reaching for books with diverse characters…there has been a true awakening to the fact that ‘we need to be better about this. This is the world we live in and these are the kinds of books kids should be reading.’ (Publishers Weekly)
