Disney Publishing Worldwide to Launch a New Imprint Called Freeform

The launch of this new venture will “coincide with the January 2016 re-branding of the Disney-owned cable TV channel, ABC Family.” The Freeform imprint list will feature “original book properties as well as material that can span formats—from books to television—and tie in with existing TV programming.”

Emily Thomas Meehan, the editor-in-chief and associate publisher of Disney Publishing Worldwide, will take the helm of this new imprint. One of the first titles that will be published under Freeform is a book called Two Truths and a Lie written by Melissa de la Cruz and Margaret Stohl. The story “presents a mystery that unravels over three novels.” (Publishers Weekly)
