The Children’s Literature Comprehensive Database Expands to Include Criteria, Past Recipients for Over 600 National & International Children’s Book Awards
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York, NY — November 11, 2014 – The Children’s Literature Comprehensive Database (CLCD) – providing reliable one-search access to information, awards, & reviews about Pre K-12 media of all types – today announced the acquisition of the Children’s Book Council (CBC)’s Awards & Prizes Database. Maintained for years by the CBC – the national non-profit trade association for children’s book publishers – Awards & Prizes is a repository of detailed information on over 325 national and international children’s book awards, including selection criteria and past recipients. The integration of the CBC database will enhance CLCD’s award-data offerings for its member-subscribers to 630 children’s book awards since the early 1900s and their respective winners, and will strengthen search capabilities by award name and year.
“The popular CLCD user-experience will be greatly enhanced by integration of this new content and search capability from the Children’s Book Council,” said Bill Payne, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, CLCD. “We believe publishers, teachers, librarians, booksellers, and children’s book scholars will have one-stop access to the most complete database available in the U.S. concerning national and international children’s book awards and their winners since the turn of the last century.”
