Kate DiCamillo Named National Summer Reading Champion

Washington—The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) has announced its partnership with award-winning children’s book author and National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, Kate DiCamillo, as its first ever National Summer Reading Champion.

In her new role as National Summer Reading Champion, DiCamillo will appear in a series of public service announcements, participate in a national media campaign, and attend events across the nation raising awareness of the value of summer reading for people of all ages:

I am hopeful that in my role as National Summer Reading Champion with CSLP I can encourage young readers to go and find themselves at the library. To find books that capture their imaginations and to spend time with others who love good stories.
