2022 Bay Area Book Festival

This year’s Bay Area Book Festival will be held on May 7-8 coinciding with the tail end of Children’s Book Week. Now in its eighth year, Northern California’s largest literary festival attracts 25,000 people annually for indoor literary sessions (using various downtown theaters) and for an outdoor fair with 200 literary exhibitors. The nonprofit festival is free for the outdoor sessions & activities and the indoor sessions can be attended at a low fee. All youth programming is free.

After two years of online activities, the BABF is happy to be returning with in-person events. They plan to kick off the festivities with a DJ dance party for kids of all ages! This year’s Festival includes entertaining and comedic readings and performances, some healthy competition with middle-grade sports novels, diverse creators sharing their experiences and storytelling, and the latest Newbery Medal winners. If you’re in the area, be sure to join and find a community in your favorite way to Book.

The official Children’s Book Week How Do You Book? posters will be handed out at BABF.
