2017 Teen Tech Week™ Site Now Live

CHICAGO, IL — The Young Adult Library Services Association’s (YALSA) 2017 Teen Tech Week website is now live. The celebration will take place March 5-11, 2017 with the theme “Be the Source of Change.”

“For years, libraries have been the place to learn about making, STEM, and coding, and this year’s Teen Tech Week initiative encourages teens to consider how they can improve their community,” said YALSA President Sarah Hill. “I can’t wait to see what projects and events teens will come up with to support the theme.”

Library staff, afterschool providers and educators interested in learning more about Teen Tech Week and how they can celebrate the event can visit the official Teen Tech Week site and register for free to access helpful resources, materials, and themed artwork.

The 2017 theme, “Be the Source of Change” encourages teens to take advantage of all the great digital resources offered through the library to make a positive change in their life and community.

Teen Tech Week is supported in part through the generous sponsorship of Best Buy, and together, YALSA and Best Buy will co-host digital literacy events in communities across the nation.

The mission of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) is to support library staff in alleviating the challenges teens face, and in putting all teens ‒ especially those with the greatest needs ‒ on the path to successful and fulfilling lives.
