New York, NY — Random House Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books, has acquired and will publish STAMPY’S LOVELY BOOK by Joseph Garrett, known best as Stampy Cat to millions of fans worldwide, it was announced today by Michelle H. Nagler, Associate Publishing Director, Random House Books for Young Readers.

The deal for U.S. rights for a 2-book deal was negotiated by Nagler with Egmont Publishing in the UK and Maker Studios on behalf of Stampy Cat. Egmont will release the book on October 22.

With more than 6.5 million subscribers and 4.1 billion cumulative views on YouTube, Stampy Cat is one of the biggest names in online gaming and family-friendly content today. On January 5, 2016, Random House Books for Young Readers will publish the first-ever authorized book about Stampy—by Stampy himself—in the U.S. The book captures the essence of his fun personality and adventures, and includes games, activities, jokes and exclusive info about Stampy and his friends.

Stampy Cat is consistently praised for his incredible reach and impact online, with Entertainment Weekly calling him “The Mister Rogers of ‘Minecraft’” and a “hero to children”; and Forbes declaring “Stampy is molding the minds of ‘Generation Blockhead’”.

“‘Hello, this is Stampy!’ is a catchphrase that resounds from thousands of screens in households across America every day, and I am delighted to bring Stampy’s inimitable humor and voice to the children’s book market,” says Nagler.

With tens of millions of views every month, it’s no secret that Stampy and his adventures have become a phenomenon unto themselves,” said Amy Finnerty, executive vice president of talent, Maker Studios. “Helping spread Stampy’s message of learning, fun and adventure has been a great experience for us at Maker, and we are thrilled to be able to continue to do so with the release of Stampy’s Lovely Book in the U.S.”
