As a result, doubts about the role of ebooks in the publishing industry have emerged, including worry that the ebook hype drove unwise investments.

Authors Andrea Ballatore and Simone Natale say that digital and print book can coexist in the market, and that e-readers have elicited emotional connections to print books and stimulated a new appreciation for the older medium.

Books have endured many technical revolutions and are in the best position to survive this one. (Slate)
