Teen Vogue’s new book club kicks off with Zora Neale Hurston’s ‘Their Eyes Were Watching God’.
Actresses Yara Shahidi and Rowan Blanchard picked Hurston’s novel because of its empowering messages about shedding society’s expectations and embracing self-acceptance. Shahidi and Blanchard discussed the book with Teen Vogue editor Elaine Welteroth on the magazine’s Facebook page on November 17.
