First Edition Copy of Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak to be Auctioned Off

Swann Auction Galleries has organized an auction with several items coveted by children's literature fans. This includes a first edition copy of Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are which came from the library of the late bookseller Robert Reed. Experts estimate that the book will sell for anywhere between $10,000 to $15,000.

"Coinciding with Bibliography Week in New York, this sale includes an extensive selection of original 20th-century illustration art and books. There are illustrations by Charles Addams, Ludwig Bemelmans, Al Hirschfeld, Beatrix Potter, Dr. Seuss and others."
