First Second Launches an Online Serialized Comic Called Astronaut Academy: Re-Entry
January 08, 2013
First Second, an imprint of Macmillan Children's Publishing Group, has launched an online serialized comic by Dave Roman called Astronaut Academy: Re-Entry. The publisher will post a new page of the comic every weekday. This project is a follow-up to Roman's 2011 graphic novel, Astronaut Academy: Zero Gravity. The publisher will release a print edition of the entire Astronaut Acadamy: Re-Entry story in May 2013.
"It’s spring semester at this futuristic institution of learning, and student Hakata Soy has lost his heart. Literally. And he’s not the only one . . . something is stalking the halls of Astronaut Academy, impersonating everyone’s crush-objects and making off with their extra hearts! How can the students continue to learn (and have crazy adventures, sometimes having to do with bears, dinosaurs, and/or spelling bees) when they’re too woozy to get out of bed? Will Hakata Soy be able to save the day even in his weakened state? And isn’t eating peoples’ hearts kind of gross?"
