Caroline B. Cooney to Pen Historical Fiction Kidlit

December 14, 2012

Caroline B. Cooney plans to pen a historical fiction novel set in 1607. Her story follows the child pilgrims who sailed on the Mayflower to North America. This project will be Cooney's follow-up after she concludes her popular Janie series. Delacorte Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children's Books, will release Janie Face to Face in January 2013.

"Set mostly during Janie’s sophomore year of college, Janie Face to Face chronicles the rekindling of the romance between Janie and her one-time boyfriend Reeve, who has embarked on the first year of what looks to be a dream career. For Horowitz, having two familiar characters reach the cusp of adulthood is an element that will likely expand the novel’s readership."
