William Alexander to Follow Goblin Secrets with More Fantasy Fiction
November 21, 2012
William Alexander has won the National Book Award in the Young People's Literature category for his novel, Goblin Secrets. His publisher, Simon & Schuster's Margaret K. McElderry Books, will release his next book Ghoulish Song in March 2013.
Ghoulish Song is set in Zombay, the same world as Goblin Secrets. It stars characters who only made small appearances in the NBA Award-winning title. Other possible future projects include an actual Goblin Secrets sequel, more fantasy fiction and adult books.
"Few fantasy or science fiction writers have won a National Book Award in its 76-year history. One is Ursula Le Guin, a giant of the genre who wrote for both adults and children including the Earthsea series published between 1968 and 2001. Alexander grew up reading Le Guin, and was overwhelmed a few months back when the 83-year-old author praised Goblin Secrets on her blog."
