MARK YOUR CALENDARS: VOTING FOR THE 6TH ANNUAL CHILDREN'S CHOICE BOOK AWARDS OPENS MARCH 19 -- LET'S GET OVER 1 MILLION VOTES!
 

The Children's Choice Book Awards is the only book awards program in the country where the winning titles are selected by children and teens of all ages.
 

From Tuesday, March 19 to Thursday, May 9, 2013, kids & teens can vote for their favorite author, illustrator, and book of the year at bookweekonline.com. The finalists, also chosen by young readers, will be announced in February.

Host a polling day or create a ballot box in your school, library, or bookstore, then tally and enter kids' votes into the group ballot online.

 

Last year, over 900,000 votes were cast - let's make it a million this year!

Winners will be announced live during Children's Book Week (May 13-19, 2013), the nation's longest-running literacy initiative, at a charity gala to benefit Every Child a Reader (ECAR). ECAR is a non-profit literacy foundation dedicated to instilling a lifelong love of reading in children.

Children's Book Week -- May 13-19, 2013!

Children's Book Week is the annual celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading. Since 1919, commemorative events have been held nationwide at schools, libraries, bookstores, homes -- wherever young readers and books connect! In 2013, Official Events will be hosted in a record-breaking 50 cities, along with innumerable Local Events.

This year's official Children's Book Week poster is being designed by Caldecott and Children's Choice Book Award-winner Brian Selznick, creator of The Invention of Hugo Cabret and Wonderstruck.     

   

The 2013 Children's Book Week bookmark will be created by author-illustrator Grace Lin, winner of the Newbery Honor for Where the Mountain Meets the Moon
