Alecia Whitaker Lands Book Deal with Poppy

The Queen of Kentucky author Alecia Whitaker has landed a book deal with Poppy, an imprint at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Whitaker has penned a new young-adult contemporary trilogy.
The story stars teen country music sensation Bird Barrett. Editors Pam Gruber and Elizabeth Bewley teamed up to oversee the acquisitions process and secured world rights. Book one will be released in spring 2014.
