Paramount Options the Film Rights for Libbra Bray's The Diviners

Paramount has optioned the film rights for Libba Bray's latest young-adult novel, The Diviners. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the producer duo behind the Gossip Girl TV series, have signed on to work on this adaptation project. In an interview with CultureMap, Bray revealed that The Diviners is a series that features all of her personal interests.
"Set in the roaring '20s, "The Diviners follows teen Evie O'Neill, who's shipped off to New York City to live with her uncle following some dramz in her Ohio hometown. But what few know is that Evie's hiding a secret supernatural gift—one that will ensnare her in the age-old battle of good versus evil. With its mix of glitz, glamour and occult intrigue, The Diviners is a bit like The Great Gatsby meets X-Men with a side of Sherlock Holmes."
