CBC Early Career Committee's Agent-Editor Networking Event Recap

On Wednesday, September 19th, the CBC Early Career Committee hosted an exciting event designed to bring junior editors and agents together in a unique way: speed networking! After an hour of general mingling over drinks, attendees participated in a series of concise one-on-one discussions about their publishing interests. What are you looking for in a manuscript? What projects are you working on? What topics do you think are up-and-coming in children’s books? Each editor-agent pair had two minutes to ask and answer before agents moved down the line to their next conversations. During the lively, whirlwind hour of networking, agents and editors put faces to names and forged valuable connections.

Huge thanks to The Australian for providing us with the space and refreshments, and to the 50 participants for making the evening such a success! Editor/Agent Speed Networking will hopefully become an annual ECC event.
