FilmNation Entertainment Snatches Up Film Rights to Adam Gidwitz's A Tale Dark & Grimm

FilmNation Entertainment has snatched up the film rights to Adam Gidwitz's debut middle-grade novel, A Tale Dark & Grimm. The studio plans to adapt the book into a live-action movie. This book features Hansel and Gretel as the lead protagonists.
Gidwitz, an elementary school teacher, became inspired to write after reading stories from Grimm's Fairy Tales to students at his school library. Penguin Young Readers Group will release Gidwitz's companion title, In a Glass Grimmly, on September 27, 2012. This book, also written for a middle-grade audience, stars Jack and Jill.
