South Dakota State Historical Society Press to Release Laura Ingalls Wilder's Pioneer Girl

Little House fans can look forward to the publication of Laura Ingalls Wilder's autobiography next year. After securing approval from the Little House Heritage Trust, South Dakota State Historical Society (SDSHS) Press enlisted Laura Ingalls Wilder: A Writer’s Life author Pamela Smith Hill to annotate and edit Wilder's manuscript, Pioneer Girl. The publisher will be chronicling the behind-the-scenes publication process in a blog called "Pioneer Girl Project."
"Over the next year or so, this site will feature content aimed at telling the story of the publication of Pioneer Girl. You’ll get a front-row seat to view the process. Video, audio, and written word pieces from Pamela Smith Hill, the staff of the SDSHS Press, and many other influential Laura Ingalls Wilder curators and scholars will tell the story of this manuscript and its publication. Our goal is to let you see the inner workings of the Press as it moves towards publication day in June 2013."
