2012 Picture Book Month Champions Announced

August 29, 2012

Now in its second year, Picture Book Month is an international literacy initiative that celebrates the print picture book in November. Each day that month, a "Picture Book Champion", a thought leader in the children’s literature community, will post an essay about the importance of the picture book at PictureBookMonth.com.

“Picture books are here and they’re important. I have yet to meet a three year old person who didn’t know what to do with a crayon. You make pictures with it.”– Chris Raschka, 2012 Caldecott Winner, from his Picture Book Month Essay
