Nominations Open for the Stonewall Book Awards

Sponsored by The American Library Association, the awards recognize books of exceptional merit relating to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender experience.
Established in 1971, the Stonewall was the first GLBT literary award in the country. The Stonewall Book Award-Barbara Gittings Literature Award, the Stonewall Book Award-Israel Fishman Non-Fiction Award and the Stonewall Book Award-Mike Morgan & Larry Romans Children’s & Young Adult Literature Award are announced in January, and the award plaques and accompanying $1,000 prizes are presented at ALA's annual conference.
