Joseph Monti on Starting Out in Publishing

The Barry Goldblatt Literary Agent shares his story on how he came to work in children's book publishing. Drawing inspiration from Bill Moyers' interview series, The Power of the Myth, Joseph Monti set aside his self-doubt and began a life journey to follow his bliss.
After college, he served as a children's fiction buyer at Barnes & Noble, a sales executive at Houghton Mifflin and an editorial director of paperbacks at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. His latest career move required that he jump from the publishing house side to a literay agency. The agency client list includes Going Bovine author Libba Bray, Princess Academy series author Shannon Hale and TTYL author Lauren Myracle.
