'Matilda the Musical' to Hit the Broadway Stage

Roald Dahl's beloved novel starring the genius heroine has been adapted into a musical for the theatrical stage. After a successful run at London's West End in the Cambridge Theater, "Matilda the Musical" will be coming to the Broadway stage in New York City. Previews at the Shubert Theatre will begin on March 4, 2013. An official opening date has been set for April 11, 2013.

"Matilda The Musical has a book by Dennis Kelly and a score by Tim Minchin. Tony Award-winning director Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, The Norman Conquests, Boeing-Boeing, La Bête, Ghost) directs. Casting will be announced at a later date...The production is designed by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker and special effects and illusions by Paul Kieve."
