Amanda Plummer Joins the Catching Fire Cast

The Tony Award-winning actress has been cast as Wiress in the second installment of The Hunger Games film series, Catching Fire.
Plummer joins Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman who will play Head Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee as well as the principal actors from the first movie: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson and Elizabeth Banks. Rumors have been flying that Snow White & the Huntsman actor Sam Clafin will win the coveted role of Finnick Odair.
"In Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Wiress is a female tribute from District 3 who won an unspecified Hunger Games. She gets thrown back into the arena during the Quarter Quell, where -- alongside Katniss (Lawrence) and Peeta (Hutcherson) -- she must fight to survive. Inside the arena, Wiress earns the nickname "Nuts," because of her batty demeanor and lack of communication skills."
