Iranian Children's Book Council Founder Touran Mirhadi Nominated for the 2013 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award

The Award organizers have recognized Touran Mirhadi for her research on the history of children’s literature in Iran and for her work with the Iranian Children’s Book Council.

"The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award is the world’s largest prize for children and young adults’ literature. It is annually presented to a single recipient or to several individuals. Authors, illustrators and oral storytellers are eligible to receive the prize.

Dutch author Guus Kuijer received the 2012 Astrid Lindgren memorial award, and Australian writer and illustrator Shaun Tan won the award in 2011."
