It has often been said that books are both mirrors and windows. But what about the readers that keep getting windows when all they want is a mirror? Several modern picture books celebrate diversity and reflect all kinds of examples of today's modern family. From a home that has two mommies, to a home that has no mommies, and from a home of white skin, to a home of blended skin, picture books explain essential subjects to children in ways parents may not be able to.
