The Results of the Re-Seussification Project: CBC Early Career Committee's Own Annie Beth Ericsson From Penguin Young Readers Group is One of the Contributors

March 01, 2012

What began as a "kooky idea" became an exciting adventure with incredible results.

The challenge: To re-illustrate any Dr. Seuss book in the style of another illustrator.

Numbers of artists and wannabe artists responded, sending in their very best portrayal of another illustrator's "interpretation" of Dr. Seuss's work. One of the contributors was Annie Beth Ericcson, a CBC Early Career Committee member from Penguin Young Readers Group. She did a take on Dr. Seuss's Yertle the Turtle with illustrations in the style of Arnold Lobel. Other artists modeled their illustrations after Shel Silverstein, Eric Carle, and recent Caldecott winner Chris Raschka, to name a few.
