Speed Dating with Children's Authors, a perennially popular event at BookExpo America, was featured on NPR's Marketplace today. The event is organized by the Children's Booksellers & Publishers Committee, a joint effort of the CBC, the American Booksellers Association, and the Association of Booksellers for Children.
This year, 22 children's authors and illustrators had three-minute "dates" with approximately 100 lucky booksellers. The authors have a short time to pitch their new work before they must move on to the next expectant group of daters. Reporter Lisa Napoli covered the event for NPR's Marketplace.
