Makerspaces and learning commons, special spaces set aside for collaborative work, are gaining popularity in school libraries across the country. Additional trends include STEM-focused programming such as Hour of Code, and ALA’s Libraries Transform campaign — raising awareness of the role libraries play in the digital age.
