Membership Categories

There are several levels of membership that represent the variety of CBC member companies:

Regular Members:
Regular Members must have more than 45 books in print and have published more than 12 titles in the previous calendar year.

Regular Members have full voting members of the CBC. Their employees are eligible to serve on all committees and on the Board of Directors. Regular members participate in CBC activities at no cost.

Associate Members:
Associate Members have no more than 45 books in print and did not publish more than 12 titles in the previous calendar year.

Associate members are non-voting members of the CBC. Their employees are eligible to serve on all committees. Associate members participate in CBC activities at the lowest fee tier.

Initiating Members:
Initiating Members are companies that plan, but have not yet begun, to publish trade books for children, or are companies that have published their first list but do not yet have a full year’s revenue data.

Initiating members are voting members, are eligible to serve on all committees, and may participate in CBC activities at the lowest fee tier.

Affiliate Members:
Affiliate Members produce products for children that are related to children’s books. Affiliate members are non-voting members. Their employees are eligible to serve on all committees and may participate in CBC activities at the lowest fee tier.
