USPS Favorite Children's Book Animals stamps dedication ceremony at Borders

On Saturday, April 29, 2006, the Children's Book Council, the United States Postal Service, and Borders Books co-sponsored a dedication ceremony for the USPS Favorite Children's Book Animals stamps at the Borders store on Columbus Circle in New York City. The dedication ceremony featured Daryl Mattson (District Marketing Manager, Borders), Tony Rosario (Postmaster/Bronx, New York District, United States Postal Service), Michelle F. Bayuk (Marketing Director, The Children's Book Council, Inc.), and a special Story Time with Amanda Ennis (Borders). Over fifty kids and their families met with special guests Curious George, Maisy, and the Very Hungry Caterpillar. Olivia creator Ian Falconer also stopped by to share in the fun. In addition to hearing both Olivia and The Very Hungry Caterpillar during Story Time, kids played dress-up with an Olivia Dress-up Trunk, played in Maisy's House, and created their own artwork. Many thanks to all who contributed to this wonderful afternoon!
