CBC Members! The Hispanic Division and the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress invite you to the presentation of The Américas Award for Children’s and Young Adult Literature
 
by the Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs (CLASP)
 

Awards will be presented to:
 
Willie Perdomo (author) and Bryan Collier (illustrator)
for
Clemente! (Holt, 2010)
 
and
 
Pam Muñoz Ryan (author) and Peter Sís (illustrator)
for
The Dreamer (Scholastic, 2010)
 

(Note:  Authors Pam Munoz Ryan and Willie Perdomo and illustrator Bryan Collier will all be participating in the event.)

The Américas Award is given in recognition of U.S. works of fiction, poetry, folklore, or selected non-fiction (from picture books to works for young adults) published in the previous year in English or Spanish that authentically and engagingly portray Latin America, the Caribbean, or Latinos in the United States.
