Bi-Coastal Kickoff:
This year’s celebration launches with two official anchor events in New York City and Los Angeles, both on Sunday, May 1. The Jefferson Market Branch of the New York Public Library will open its doors for kids ages 5-12 and their families. Stop by for crafts, interactive storytelling, trivia games, and more fun activities led by favorite children’s book authors and illustrators! And for the older set, we’re partnering with our friends at YALLWEST on a special YA panel: “Authors as Fans.” As a bookend to the CBW celebrations, National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature Gene Luen Yang will appear with Raina Telgemeier on May 7 at the San Francisco Public Library for a discussion on graphic novels.
