How to Make a Charmed Bookmark

Things You Will Need

  • Scissors
  • A variety of construction paper
  • Pens or Markers (optional)
  • A pencil with an eraser
  • String or cord

Instructions

  1. Choose five things that you want to put as charms.
  2. Choose the paper that you want to use for the bookmark.
  3. Measure and draw with a pencil a 2.5 in. x 7 in. rectangle and cut it out.
  4. Measure and draw with a pencil five 1 in. x 1 in. squares.
    P.S. Feel free to draw something about the size of the squares and then cut it out. For example: A volleyball, a basketball, a book, a face, etc.
  5. Make sure that you can fit a hole on your charm!!!!!
  6. Draw or write whatever you want to put on to your charms.
  7. Make sure that there is still room for a hole!!!!!
  8. Color your charms if you want to.
  9. Draw or write whatever you want to put on your main book mark.
  10. Color your bookmark if you want to.
  11. Punch a hole in the bookmark with your scissors on the top-middle of your bookmark.
    P.S. Make your hole big enough to hold multiple strings.
  12. Cut off five strands of string about 6 in. long.
  13. Punch a hole in each of your charms with your scissors.
  14. Tie one of your strings to a charm.
  15. Repeat step 14 on each of the charms.
  16. DOUBLE KNOT THE STRINGS AND MAKE SURE THE KNOTS ARE TIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Take one of your charms with the string attached to it and tie it to your bookmark.
  18. Repeat step 17 for each charm.
