If you are staging a Read-In, hosting an Author/Illustrator Visit, or beginning a Favorite Book Awards Program, see below for sample press releases to send to the local papers. Send the press release two to three weeks in advance. The week before Children's Book Week, make a follow-up call and invite the paper to send a photographer. Also, remember to invite the school paper.
