CBC Perspectives highlights topics relevant to children's books and children's book publishing. Three distinct features, which are presented on a rotating basis, compose CBC Perspectives.
Perspectives Essays discuss topics of interest in children's literature and/or children's book publishing. Contributors are selected for their expertise in the subject under discussion.
Creative Collaboration: Author-Editor Dialogues explores the dynamic collaborative relationship between authors and editors. These dialogues provide a behind-the-scenes view of creating children's books and offer a more detailed understanding of how editors and authors work together to produce good children's books.
In the Artist's Studio is the study of a specific illustration technique, or medium, used in children's book illustration. Written by an artist with expertise in the medium being discussed, the feature focuses on the illustration technique itself, using the artist's own sketches, drafts, and final designs as visual models. These studies provide an understanding of illustration techniques, allowing the reader to better appreciate the art of children's books.
