Picture Books, Toys and Other Things to Grow On

The Bard Graduate Center will host a Literature Spotlight entitled Picture Books, Toys and Other Things to Grow On, tonight at 6 pm at 38 West 86th Street in New York City.

Children’s book historian and critic Leonard S. Marcus will moderate a discussion on the creation and enduring appeal of classic children’s literature and toys.

Panelists:

Karen Hewitt is founder and director of the Vermont-based Learning Materials workshop, a maker of innovative, award-winning toy blocks and other open-ended play materials, and a toy historian.

Laura Ljundkvist is a Swedish-born artist, designer, illustrator of many picture books, including the Follow the Line series and Pepi Sings a New Song.
