CBC Diversity Presents: “Religion in the Workplace”
Mark Fowler, deputy CEO for Tanenbaum, served as moderator for the discussion. The panelists included Preeti Chhibber, senior editorial manager at Scholastic Reading Clubs; Ellice M. Lee, incoming associate art director at Philomel; and Shifa Kapadwala, publicity assistant at Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing. The panelists addressed some of the challenges and misunderstandings centering on religion in the workplace, as well as the importance of inclusive and authentic representation of religious experience in children’s literature.
The speakers rounded out the conversation with a discussion of the ways in which workplaces can better foster a culture of understanding, communication, and awareness within publishing and in any other professional sphere. (Publishers Weekly)
