Designer at Random House Children's

Random House, Inc. is the world's largest general trade book publisher. It is a division of Bertelsmann AG, one of the foremost media companies in the world.

The Random House Children's Publishing Group seeks a Designer to be part of an energetic art team. Individual will work with award-winning trade imprints designing picture books through young adult novels in paperback and hardcover formats.

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years book designing experience, preferably in children's book publishing. Be highly creative, organized, have excellent communication skills, outstanding attention to detail and a true interest in the trade children's book field. Candidate must have the ability to work conceptually, under pressure and meet deadlines. Must be able to handle multiple projects independently.

Thorough working knowledge of OS 9 & OS X Mac operating systems, proficiency with PhotoShop, Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat is required. Polished InDesign and Quark skills are essential. A working knowledge of PDF creation and workflow a plus.
