Children’s Book Council Intern

The Children's Book Council is the national nonprofit trade association for children's trade book publishers. The CBC offers children's publishers the opportunity to work together on issues of importance to the industry at large, including educational programming, literacy advocacy, and collaborations with other national organizations.

Our examination library is one of the best sources for browsing contemporary children's books. The collection includes books published by our members in the current year and the year immediately preceding, as well as the entire collection of Newbery and Caldecott Medal and Honor books.

Intern duties may include cataloging and shelving books and other library projects, as well as maintaining our online database of national and local awards through independent research. Special projects will be assigned on an as-needed basis. Past interns have helped with archiving original art, compiling submissions for popular reading lists, and organizing CBC materials dating back to the 1940s.

We are looking for an intern one to two days per week who is responsible and interested in the children's book publishing industry. This is an unpaid internship; the hours are 10 am to 4 pm. We accept resumes on a rolling basis for fall, spring, and summer positions.

Send cover letter and resume to Kelly Giordano at kelly.giordano@cbcbooks.org.
