Publicity & Marketing Manager at ABRAMS Children's Books

ABRAMS seeks a creative, dynamic individual who will have full publicity and marketing responsibility for its growing Abrams Appleseed imprint and will also manage publicity and marketing strageties and campaigns for books published by Abrams Books for Young Readers and Amulet Books. This role is responsible for maximizing traditional and digital media outlets, organizing and attending national and local author tours, building relationships with a broad range of commercial and literary authors and illustrators and overseeing high-level communication with key media contacts. In addition, individual will be responsibile for managing the publicity and marketing staff, maintaining a database and departmental budget.
Responsibilities: We are seeking an individual who will demonstrate a creative approach to publicity and can thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Individual should have established national and local media contacts and a portfolio of press clippings; excellent written and verbal communications skills; and be detail oriented with ability to handle multiple, complex projects. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Cision Point.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree
- 5 to 7 years' experience in children's publicity and marketing
- Strong knowledge of publicity and marketing of children's books
