Requirements

ABRAMS is seeking a detail-oriented self-starter, with proven media contacts, who will be responsible for successfully publicizing numerous books each season for the Abrams children's book imprints on a wide array of subjects and topics, both fiction and nonfiction. Individual will be responsible for scheduling interviews with broadcast, print and online media; scheduling multi-city author tours with bookstore appearances, book festivals, school events and more; actively developing and maintaining media contacts, including national, regional, local and online; garning review attention; working closely with authors and illustrators to build relationships; and working closely with the Executive Director on campaign strategies and to position titles.

Qualifications include 2 - 4 years' experience in publishing publicity or a related field; proven media contacts; solid knowledge of publicity and marketing of children's books; excellent writing and communication skills; ease and comfort with public speaking and presenting professionally to the company and outside world; self-sufficient in the technologies common to book publicity including email, internet use and databasse functions.
